Church Home Again Ranked One of Top Nursing Homes in Georgia by US News & World Report

November 8, 2017—Perry, GA— U.S. News & World Report released its ranking of the best nursing homes in the nation, and two middle Georgia long term care homes were on that list. Church Home Rehabilitation and Healthcare between Perry and Fort Valley, and The Oaks in Marshallville were among 21 homes in Georgia recognized. There are 358 nursing homes certified by Georgia’s Department of Community Health.

U.S. News evaluated more than 15,000 nursing homes nationwide to come up with slightly more than 2,300 homes included in their list of Best Nursing Homes. “Millions of Americans will spend at least some time in a nursing home this year,” noted Brian Kelly, editor and chief content officer of U.S. News.

“Finding a nursing home that meets an individual’s specific needs is a difficult decision that several million families across America face each year,” Kelly said in a release.  “The Best Nursing Homes ratings, advice and tools were designed to help navigate this important life decision and make the process a little easier.” More information from U.S. News & World Report can be found online at http://www.usnews.com/senior-care.

The methodology for the U.S. News “Best Nursing Home” designation relies on data from Nursing Home Compare at the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Factors included overall performance ratings, as well as ratings for key services over the 10 months ending in August 2017. Consumers may research nursing homes on federal government’ CMS site https://www.medicare.gov/nursinghomecompare/search.html?

Kathy Gibbs, Administrator of Church Home/LifeSpring stated, “Our dedicated staff provides person-centered care every day to treat our residents with the care and respect we would want for ourselves and our loved ones.”  She added, “Church Home LifeSpring has a wonderful reputation in the middle Georgia community because we treat our residents with the dignity and love they deserve. We are humbled to be honored on this list of outstanding long term care homes across the nation.”
