Church Home/LifeSpring Rehabilitation Names Glenn Smith Chief Operating Officer

January 19, 2016, Perry, GA—Church Home Rehabilitation and Healthcare, Inc. (Church Home/LifeSpring) located on Highway 41 North between Warner Robins and Perry, recently named Glenn B. Smith of Macon its Chief Operating Officer. According to Chip Bishop, Chair of the Board of Manager’s for Church Home/LifeSpring, “We are thrilled to have someone of Glenn Smith’s experience and expertise join us to oversee our expanding LifeSpring campus as well as our various agricultural and business operations.” Bishop added, “Glenn’s unique combination of healthcare and agricultural experience, along with his personal values, made him the perfect choice to oversee our professional and missional goals.”

Smith will help support Kathy Gibbs and her team at Church Home/LifeSpring, enabling them to continue to focus on the delivery of the highest quality nursing and rehabilitation services.  Smith said, “The opportunity for me to work with such a committed and professional team to improve the lives of people in middle Georgia—all from a Christian perspective—is a distinct honor.”

Church Home/LifeSpring offers nursing and rehabilitation services for seniors from Houston, Peach, Bibb and surrounding counties in middle Georgia. Tracing its history of delivering care to area seniors to 1939 when the members of Christ Sanctified Holy Church opened the original Church Home for the Aged, the facility has undergone numerous expansions and renovations. In 2014, the LifeSpring rehabilitation center opened to provide state-of-the-art services for those needing short-term support following surgery or a medical event. Expansion of the LifeSpring center to meet demand for its private room/bath suites will occur in 2016.  Additional expansion of the campus is also in the early planning stages.

About Glenn B. Smith

Glenn B. Smith is an experienced life sciences and agribusiness executive.  Most recently, Smith was the President of Palmetto Pharmaceuticals, a generic drug development firm.  Additional associations include Chief Operating Officer for Laser Pharmaceuticals, LLC, Vice President of Global Operations for TraceGains, Inc. and AgInfoLink, and 14 years as Executive Vice President for the Georgia Cattlemen’s Association. Smith is the father of two sons and a daughter and the husband of a Perry, Georgia native. Smith is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a BSA in Agricultural Economics.
